2008

Rhubarb Festival, Pine Grove, CO   June 14, 2008

This is one of the best small town festivals ever! It draws huge crowds for the pancake and rhubarb breakfast, live music, parade, arts and crafts, rhubarb recipe contest, and duck races in the river.

Bailey Days, Bailey, CO  June 21 & 22, 2008

This annual event grew so much in recent years the Bailey Chamber of Commerce extended both the area and time. My booth was at the Farmers Union location for 2008 rather than main street where I was in ‘07 and 06. There were musicians and a beer garden at both locations along with the arts and crafts, but the main street location was only on Saturday. The Farmers Union location was two full days of fun activities by the river for all ages beginning at 9 a.m. each morning.

Holiday Extravaganza  Bailey’s Fitsimmons Middle School  November 1 and 2, 2008My display was in the beautiful Canyon Room of the school. I joined over 60 artists and crafters in this holiday show sponsored by The Flume newspaper. A portion of the proceeds went to programs for Park County children with disabilities. Thanks to Tom Locke, editor of the flume, and all the others who give of their time and creativity each year to put on this great show.

CN&N Holiday Boutique   Conifer High School   November 8, 2008

My booth in the cafetorium in the photo below. The CN&N (Conifer Newcomers and Neighbors) donates Holiday Boutique proceeds (booth fees and a % of sales) to local organizations and agencies. In this 30th year of the event, 3 silent auctions were held to benefit Intermountain Humane and Jeffco HEAT. The CN&N volunteers stopped by my booth several times throughout the day to ask if I needed a break, food, or water. This is really helpful when you’re working alone in the booth.
