When the fox hears my camera clicking, she stares at me a moment and then curls up on the hillside as if to nap. Another fox is coming, perhaps interested in watching my cat, too, but he&#8217;s apparently not welcome to join us. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/condaily.com\/consworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/_mg_2741.jpg\" alt=\"red fox 2741\" title=\"red fox 2741\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1242\" srcset=\"https:\/\/condaily.com\/consworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/_mg_2741.jpg 450w, https:\/\/condaily.com\/consworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/_mg_2741-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I wonder if they&#8217;re already aquainted and have a long history of greeting each other this way. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/condaily.com\/consworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/_mg_2742.jpg\" alt=\"red fox 2742\" title=\"red fox 2742\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1243\" srcset=\"https:\/\/condaily.com\/consworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/_mg_2742.jpg 450w, https:\/\/condaily.com\/consworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/_mg_2742-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After a few seconds pushing match, the newcomer slinks away. And we, the first fox, my cat, and I, go back to watching each other while I make photographs of the fox. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/condaily.com\/consworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/_mg_2750.jpg\" alt=\"red fox 2750\" title=\"red fox 2750\" width=\"300\" height=\"450\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1244\" srcset=\"https:\/\/condaily.com\/consworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/_mg_2750.jpg 300w, https:\/\/condaily.com\/consworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/_mg_2750-100x150.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After a few minutes, the fox leaves. I hope both foxes have gone searching for rodents, their natural diet. <\/p>\n<p>Captured with a dslr and 100-400 telephoto zoom lens in cloud filtered afternoon sunlight.
